In terms of pure convenience, La Vie Golf Club (former Muscat Hills) is perfect for those seeking a golf holiday in Oman. The golf club is situated adjacent to the International Airport and close to the capital city of Muscat.
Having opened for play in 2009, La Vie Golf Club was the first grass golf club in Oman. The championship golf course is designed by Paul Thomas and features 18 holes, with a choice of five tees on each hole. The par-72 course plays to just under 7,000 yards and throughout the 18 holes you can enjoy views of both the ocean and the Al Hajar Mountains.
In terms of the design, the golf course at La Vie Golf Club has been landscaped around the natural Wadi terrain. A Wadi is a dry riverbed valley and these provide a serious of challenging shots throughout the 18 holes, with some shots having to be played over the valleys. In fact, the terrain means this is not an easy golf course but thankfully, the choice of tees mean it is suitable for players of all abilities.
The round begins with a good variety of holes, starting with a par-4, moving to a par-5 and then a par-3, giving players a good taste of what is to come.
In terms of the facilities, the comfortable club house is complete with a large outdoor seating area plus a beach club bar, restaurant, and pro shop. The shop keeps a good stock of golf equipment and apparel from the biggest names, including Titleist, Callaway, Mizuno, Srixon, Callaway. The practice facilities are excellent and you will find a 400 metre floodlit driving range plus a putting green. For those who want to improve their game, Muscat Hills Golf and Country Club is home to qualified PGA professionals and state-of-the-art equipment, providing the best in swing analysis.
