There are many reasons to visit the resort town of Hua Hin in Thailand but arguably the best of them is for a golf holiday.

Hua Hin has grown into one of the top regions in Asia for golf thanks to the choice of golf courses.  One of the best in many people’s eyes is Majestic Creek Country Club.  This golf course is located just over 20 minutes away from the town itself and makes for an easy day trip from one of the many hotels.

Majestic Creek Country Club opened for play in 1993 and was designed by Dr. Sukkitti Klangvisai.  He is a famous golf course designer in Thailand having also been responsible for Loch Palm in Phuket.  This is a 27-hole golf course which has an enviable location on the foothills of Hua Hin.

The natural scenery which surrounds Majestic Creek Country Club is one of the many draws.  You can find several plantations and farms dotted around the course, some of which come into view on the road leading from Hua Hin.

The course is split into three sets of nine holes called Creek Course, Lake Course and Waterfall Course.  As you can probably guess from the names of each set of nine holes, water is a significant feature throughout.

Water comes into play on four holes on the Creek Course and six holes on the Waterfall Course, so this gives you some idea of what to expect during a round.  Avoiding the water is the key to a low score and this can be achieved with good accuracy off the tee and on approach to the green.

The water also has a big role in the aesthetics of the course and one hole in particular stands out.  The 5th hole on the Waterfalls Course is the signature hole at Majestic Creek Country Club and it is easy to see why.  The tee box stands above the waterfall and the views to the course below are stunning.

This par-3 hole is by no means the most difficult on the golf course but it provides a great photo opportunity and talking point.  Another hole of note includes the par-5 final hole on the Lakes Course and this requires two shots over water, one from the tee and another from fairway to green.  You can also choose to avoid the second shot over water by playing safe but taking a longer route to the putting surface.

It is easy to see why Majestic Creek Country Club is a big favourite among local golfers and visitors alike.  You can stay at the resort if you wish and sample local food at the restaurant.  There is also a swimming pool to enjoy so you can easily stay at Majestic Creek Country Club for a full day or longer and enjoy the lovely golf course and other facilities.

Majestic Creek Golf Club

Enjoyable for high handicap golfers

Reviewed by ; on
The course condition is not quite as good as others in Hua Hin being very dry with bare lies and uneven terrain off the fairways. However the greens are a little slower and the course with one or two exceptions more forgiving for high handicap golfers. The staff and caddies were very friendly and welcoming.

Dry golf course in this time of year (March)..

Reviewed by ; on
Very slow service at the club restaurant. The golf course was dry, perhaps there is s lick of water resourches. The course was quite empty in mid of March. I have to play alone, and I didn’t see any other players on the course.

Nice layout, challenging 18th par 5 hole if your back nine is the B course.

One green had burnt patches and the fairways and T box need water. Other than that the course was fine.

Well worth playing! Fairways good, greens tricky regarding speed and slope. Water hazards well positioned. Would have liked to choose the tee to play off

good staff and caddies, needed more time after the round to check out the facilities, pick up time after each game was too tight
